Airios is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our R&D team in Veldhoven, The Netherlands.

Our portfolio of products consists of controllers, sensors and user interfaces that are all connected wirelessly. We work closely with our customers to develop new and innovative products. 



Our products and systems are developed by multidisciplinary project teams of hardware and software engineers. The Airios organizational structure is informal, flexible, and designed to promote innovation. As a senior embedded software engineer, you will report to the R&D manager of Airios. You will work in the R&D team consisting of over 20 architect, soft- and hardware engineers and organized in several scrum teams. We use agile methodologies and tools. The teams usually work on various activities at the same time, both new product development and maintenance on existing products.

The senior software engineer will coach and guide the other software engineers in the team and drives improvements in the way of working.

What you will do?

As a Senior Software Engineer at Airios, you:

  • help the team to fully understand the product requirements in the form of user stories and clarify those with stakeholders and/or customers.

  • design software solutions for our products.

  • implement the stories and designs in working code.

  • design and implement unit, integration and system test code.

  • make sure that the work done by you and the team lives up to our standards, that you help bring to the next level.

  • take the lead when it comes to improving the team’s way of working in general.

  • coach other team members to improve their way of working.

Education and experience

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with the following experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering study, such as computer science, electrical engineering or mathematics.

  • A minimum of eight years of experience in a comparable embedded software working environment. You are experienced in programming in C and preferably have knowledge of and experience in C#, Python or JavaScript.

  • Embedded design incorporating sensors, connectivity and networking, IoT/Smart Home, and/or security.

  • Working in an agile/scrum environment.

  • Experience in climate and ventilation systems is preferred.
