NPI Project Buyer

Airios is looking for a NPI Project Buyer to join our R&D team in Veldhoven, The Netherlands.

​Your role

As a Project Buyer, you will report to the Operations Manager (COO) and be part of the operations team, which includes a Strategic Purchaser, Operational Purchaser, supply planning, and manufacturing team. You will also collaborate closely with our R&D team.

Your main responsibility is to drive supplier and component selection for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects in consultation with the Strategic Purchaser.

 

Key Responsibilities:​

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to select optimal solutions in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects

  • Order tools and samples for NPI projects

  • Support phase-in and phase-out planning for NPI projects

  • Manage customization and changes for the existing product portfolio

  • Identify opportunities in new design process through early supplier involvement

  • Ensure purchasing related risks are controlled and mitigated

  • Support and execute the implementation of purchasing strategies and cost reduction plans

  • Initiate and execute cost optimization initiatives both in New Product Introduction projects as well as in the existing portfolio

  • Contribute to standardization and complexity reduction across the portfolio

 

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, complemented with NEVI courses

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role or environment

  • Strong affinity with electronics and software-driven products

  • Background in semiconductor and/or electronics manufacturing supply chains

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office

  • Solid project management skills and a good understanding of the product development process

  • Knowledge of cost modeling and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) management within product development
