Electronics Development Engineer

Airios is looking for an Electronics Development Engineer to join our R&D team in Veldhoven, The Netherlands.

 

At Airios, we create a healthier world through advanced climate control systems for residential buildings. As a market leader in embedded control solutions for the OEM industry, we continuously innovate to deliver high-performance, reliable, and energy-efficient products.

​Our products are embedded electronics circuit boards that either are delivered as a semi-final PCBA or complete box-build and packaged product. Part of our production takes place in our own production facility, where we focus on low to mid-volume production.

​Your role

As an Electronics Development Engineer, you will be part of our hardware team of 8 engineers within a multidisciplinary R&D organization of 40 specialists.

​

You play a key role in both new product development (NPI) and improving existing designs, with a strong focus on analysis, robustness, and problem-solving in complex electronic systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:​

  • Design and develop electrical schematics and PCB layouts (power, digital, RF, antennas)

  • Translate system requirements into robust and reliable hardware solutions

  • Build and validate prototypes together with test engineers (including certification)

  • Perform root cause analysis on design, production, and field issues

  • Drive design improvements based on data, analysis, and testing insights

  • Collaborate closely with system, software, and production engineers

  • Optimize designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency

 

Education and experience

We are looking for an engineer who combines hands-on design skills with strong analytical capabilities:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar

  • Up to 5 years of experience in electronics development

  • Experience with wireless technologies (e.g., 868MHz, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NB-IoT)

  • Preferably experience in RF design and testing

  • Familiarity with structured design methodologies (e.g., DFSS)
